Chapter 1 - 39 Years of an Unexpected Journey

I have seen many people and celebrities sharing their distinct experiences, but today I will share 35 years of my life in this few words brief. I was born in year December 1983, few months after biggest event in history of Punjab happened, 1984 riots. Technically, I was there but not there as I was a few months old and innocent kids. I heard, read & learned many stories from people, family, internet and media throughout 35 years of my life.

During these 35 years, many things happened around in the world but the most sad thing happened in these 35 days was nine eleven incident when few terrorists crashed two aeroplane in the Twin Towers, resulting thousands of people to death. That say I thought that this is the end of humanity.

I started writing this chapter when I turned 35 years old, but I am completing this after 4 years when I am 39 years old. When I think about these 39 years, I am proud that I am one of the generations who had seen whole world changing around me. It's worth sharing this experience with the world in my own words, what I have experienced in past 39 years.

Life starts when we enter mother's Womb, then 9 months of living inside mother we are born to live inside Mother Earth for rest life. Throughout life, we meet numerous people, we experience many unexpected events in this journey called life. In Australia, it's a normal saying when someone ask, "Hey, How are you?", my reply is always, " Living the Dream". But people never understood the meaning of this saying, which is a Dream. As the biggest truth in this world is Death which we start journey after living a lie that is called Life and dream is always a lie. It's on us how we want to live this dream, chasing it or preparing for ultimate Truth. This is what is the moral I learnt in these 39 years. Anyways, let's get started with this journey of 39 years, where I will shread some dust from some important events and experiences which made this journey an ultimate experience.

Please keep reading coming chapters of my life story in coming days and months....

Life Experiences: Past, Present, Future and Critical Thinking... (Part 1)

I am living in a western country from past five years, and never went back to my home country once I moved here. While living these long five years in a place which is new to me and where I am new to everyone, I had many experiences which are worth knowing in one's life. I call these experiences, long lasting education to real world, which changes your thinking to look at the things and people around you.

Before moving from my home country, I heard from people and saw in the movies that western countries are all sexually exploited, where people only think about sex. I was surprised when I came to Australia and saw that people's theory was contrast to the reality. There are many types of hunger, and sex is one of those types, which is everywhere in the world in right quantity of salt in the curry. Only difference in many countries and this country is that they have channelized this hunger through right channels to control sex greed and reduce sex crime. This reminds me of the era of Kamasutra, when kings use to have these channels in the corner of their city to control sex crimes, domestic violence and much more.

World is changing but brains are still stocked on the same place to be a critic to led something or someone down. We are mature enough to think right about the society and can stop it from proceeding further towards its destruction. One day this world will finish, and reason behind will be "us", who can be a critic but cannot be a critical thinker, who believes in changing his thinking to change this world. Now next bit is going to be bit interesting because I am going to tell you a true incident or I can say a question I answered which came through a patron to whom I went to drop home on late Friday night.

Night was still young, and I was driving home from the night club. While standing near my car, I saw a lovely lady coming towards me. I can never forget that innocent and lovely smile, who was going to ask me a question of lifetime which changed my ideology about thinking about things and I realize that what people think about girls is wrong. However, she jumped into my taxi on front seat and told me drive her to GC.

I was excited for a two hours' drive with a beautiful girl in the mid of night, it was like my dream come true. Here I was hit by reality that was, "LIVING THE DREAM..." what we all do and are always doing until we get through the question of the lifetime. After one hour of drive and talking about various topics, she straight away asked me, "If you got married and one day you came to know about your wife that she was a prostitute in her past. What will be your action after knowing the reality? Would you be able to love her the same way she does?". I was stunned after listening to her question, because it was an unexpected query and I was bit shy to answer this type of question because of my cultural background. After thinking for about 15 minutes, I was smiling and was happy from inside and was feeling blessing here for changing the way I use to think. I said, "USE TO THINK" because I use to think 15 minutes ago the same way other people think and react in this kind of situation.

These fifteen minutes of life were worth answering her query. She smiled at me and said, "I know you will leave her and go on in your life as women are made to use only.". I again smiled and said, "Mam, you asked me a question which was hard for me to answer, but after doing come critical thinking and brain storming inside my brain I have accepted that women as the best part of my life.". She was shocked with my answer, she broke down, started crying and told me that she is going through this these days as her partner left her after knowing her past. She cried for 45 minutes sitting in the cab beside me. I was also in tears and feeling the same pain she was going through.

When we reached the destination, she insisted me for a selfie with her and while leaving she asked me, "why would you accept a girl in your life who was a prostitute in the past.". I said, "Mam, you gave the answer yourself by saying two words, "Was" & "Past". Though my Guru thought me to live in present not in the past. Past is gone and is unchangeable, whereas Present is happening right now, which is going to affect my Future. So why should I get bothered about what she was doing in her past, rather I should be bothered about what is she doing today. She left with a huge smile on her face, which gave me the best day of my life.

Moral of the story: Living the dreamed future by Living it through your present and learning from past. We should change generalized thinking and make a change.

*I haven't the name of any country in order to condemn a generalized thinking we maintain about western culture, which I believe is not correct ethically. Drinking may help you in Weight Loss...!

Isn't it funny that if we start talking about DRINKING, then all the brains automatically start thinking about alcohol. Drinking is a keyword that is switched in the social area of brain, which always connects our brain to alcohol.

I know at this time, while reading the headline and first paragraph of this article brains must be  thinking about alcohol, so that they can prove some one that drinking alcohol is good for health. Don't worry guys, I am not a big fan of drinking alcohol, that doesn't means I will be against alcohol in this article. I believe that drinking or not drinking alcohol is an individuals decision and prospective.

In this article I am going to talk about the well known truth and a scientific fact that our body is made of 75% water and though many studies have proven that water is the only natural ingredient in the world which improves your our loss results. So my projection is completely about drinking water the right way, to help our metabolism improve. There is a old saying we have heard from our elders, ‘The more you drink, the more you shrink’ (Fitstop Australia, n.d.). If we drink more water we are doing the right thing, but we are not doing it the right way.

                                             Weight Loss

Now first question comes to the mind is, How does drinking water helps to lose weight? Answer is simple,

"Drinking water can boost weight loss results in a number of ways, mainly through potentially increasing your metabolism, cleansing your body of excess waste and acting as a bit of an appetite suppressant. Drinking more water will also encourage your body to retain less water compared to when it’s dehydrated. This can help you to drop water weight and get rid of that dreaded bloated feeling. Drinking water and staying hydrated is also known to boost energy levels and maintain clear skin." (Fitstop Australia, n.d.)

Now let us talk about the main point for which we are reading this article, How to use water for weight loss? There are three things to maintain, which are explained as under:

  1. Have a glass right before you eat: Water fills up your stomach, and therefore works as an appetite suppressor. Drinking water before you eat a meal can actually result in an average reduction of 75 calories per meal, which is awesome if weight loss is your ultimate goal (Fitstop Australia, n.d.).‍
  2. Reach for the water instead of the calorie-filled drinks: Sugar-filled choices could potentially be sabotaging your weight loss efforts. It’s easy to consume excess calories from beverages and not really factor them into our daily intake. Next time you’re thirsty, switch out the soda for a couple of glasses of water instead and see whether your cravings disappear [1] (Fitstop Australia, n.d.).‍
  3. Drink to remove excess waste from your body: If your body is dehydrated, it’s not able to correctly or effectively remove waste [2]. Making sure you’re adequately hydrated helps your kidneys filter out toxins and other junk from your body, and also encourages them to retain nutrients and electrolytes (the good stuff). If your body isn’t removing waste effectively then it can build up in your intestines, causing you to feel bloated, sore, swollen or tired. Make sure that you’re drinking enough water to support your body’s digestion process (Fitstop Australia, n.d.).
How much water should you be drinking?
Based on the average weight of men and women, the current daily recommended water intake is 2.6 litres for men and 2.1 liters for women. However, this depends heavily on your age, weight, height, and if you’re pregnant [3] (Fitstop Australia, n.d.).

How can I tell if I’m drinking enough water?
The best way to tell whether or not you’re getting enough water is to pay attention when you use the loo. It’s likely if you’re not heading to the bathroom every 3 to 4 hours, that you’re likely dehydrated and should consider upping your water intake (Fitstop Australia, n.d.).

Women Empowerment : Happy Women Day to all the women empowering our society.

Women can do everything that men can, and they even do it better. They also can do many things that men cannot. But it is a fact that their work is not appreciated as much as men’s, although they have to sacrifice a lot for their family and career… It is said: "A woman’s place is in the home." What do you think?

Over the last twenty years, the women empowerment and employment have gone through rapid changes and more over women are working in the different sphere of the society than ever. But the harsh truth is that the society never appreciates their efforts, irrespective of their hard work and the sacrifice they make in their family and profession. Some people think that home is the right place for women to stay rather than going out for work. In this paper we will analyses the position of working women in society, in the light of abilities, cultural norms and religious values.

Firstly, men are better adapted to perform physical work, such as operating heavy machinery, cargo loading, digging etc because of their physical abilities, whereas women are not accepted for such domain due to their structure and nature. It is the structure of a person which marks their abilities, what they can do and what they cannot. On other hand women are successfully working as carer in the professions like nursing, elementary education, customer service, child care, nanny services etc, where they are preferred over men due to their ability to be patient, devotion, care and pliability. I don't believe in judging ability of a women by their structure. There are many women around the world, like, Kalpana Chawla, Mother Teresa, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Obama, who have proven this wrong by working beyond their structural abilities.

However, there is an argument over the women’s position which is less esteemed in society due to their traditional roles at home. For instance, in Middle-East and ancient India, where culture and religious values were in the way of the women to progress over men in the society. They were taught only to stay at home, raise children and perform household responsibilities.

To conclude, I disagree with the argument that women should stay at home. I believe that they should be given chance equally to perform and show their abilities. World is changing now, and women has already proved that they can do better than men.

Month of November, in Sikh History

Every date and every month has a list of its own historical events. Today something came to my mind and I started searching about the events happened in the history of November and I found many historical incidents from www.sikhiwiki.org . Let us talk about what happened in this month which passes us every year.

There is an argument between historians regarding exact date of "Bandi Chod Divas" , when Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was released with 52 kings from Gwalior prison. Though most of the historians state few days before Diwali festival, so in the absence of exact date, Sikhs celebrate this day on the same day of Diwali in the month of November.

Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, was born in the month of Kattak according to nanakshahi calendar. Day described in gurbani was kattak di pooranmashi according to hundu calendar its Kartik Purnima, which falls in the month of October and November. This year in 2018, this great day falls on 23rd of November. There is a old shabad we use to listen in childhood, "Kattak di pooranmashi, Mela nankane da."

Mata Sahib Kaur Ji was born on 1 November, 1681 in a village called Rohtas, District Jehlum, in un-partitioned India (now in Pakistan).

Bhai Dharam Singh Ji, one of the beloved Panj Payaras was born on 3 November, 1666.

Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, one of the powerful pillars of khalsa panth, passed away on 13 November 1757.

"Sher-e-Punjab", "The Lion of Punjab" Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji, was born on 13th of November, 1780 in Gujranwala (now in Pakistan).

14th of November, is the first day of Nanakshahi month Maghar.

In dates from 18 November to 24 November, Shri Guru Teg Bahadar Ji along with Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayal Das Ji were First tortured and then martyred on 24 November 1675.

On 24 November Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji became Tenth Guru of Sikhs. He was the last guru in human form, though in 1708, The sovereignty of the Sikh Scripture (Guru Granth Sahib) declared as the Guru for all times.

Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji, the third son of Guru Gobind Singh was born on 28 November 1696.

Sobha Singh (29 November 1901 - 21 August 1986), famous Sikh painter, was born on 29 November 1901.
